It is the bitter truth of life, the earlier you’ll understand it, the better position you’ll be in your life.
You simply can’t please everyone in the world.
People are going to dislike you whatever you do and even if you don’t do anything at all.
People are bound to hate you when you take stand on any matter.
There is a lot of wisdom in the words of Winston Churchill, “You have enemies? Good. That means you’ve stood up for something, sometime in your life”.
If you stop avoiding hatred by avoiding taking stands, you may reduce your enemies but you may end up losing all your friends.
Read this Aesop’s Fable,
A GREAT conflict was about to come off between the Birds and the Beasts.
When the two armies were collected together the Bat hesitated which to join.
The Birds wanted to join the bat in their army but he denied, the perch of the birds said: “Come with us”; but he said: “I am a Beast.”
Later on, some Beasts who were passing underneath him looked up and said: “Come with us”; but he said: “I am a Bird.”
Fortunately, at the last moment peace was made, and no battle took place, so the Bat cunningly came to the Birds and wished to join in the rejoicings, but they all turned against him and didn’t allow to take part in their celebration so, he had to fly away.
He then went to the Beasts with a hope that they will accept him, but soon had to beat a retreat, or else they would have torn him to pieces. They also not allowed him to join in. The bat regretfully said, “I see now, “HE THAT IS NEITHER ONE THING NOR THE OTHER HAS NO FRIENDS.”
Never follow two opposite pathways at the same time, it might put you in the corridor of uncertainty and you will end up with a messed up mind.
Once you accept that some people are anyway going to dislike you, you are mentally prepared to minimize the hatred and dislike rather trying to avoid it altogether.
If you are disliked by all the people; there has to be some problem with you.
Learn to find the issues with you and work hard to sort out those problems.
Once you eliminate the problems in you, the same people would gradually start liking you.
However, if some people like you and some people don’t like you; you must avoid the company of those who don’t like you and spend more time with those whom you like.
This would make your life more comfortable and enjoyable.
You must strive to develop emotional stability and emotional self-reliance.
If you are strong emotionally and you can be happy all with yourself, no one can have the power to make your life miserable.
