The sudden demise of this Swedish DJ and electronic dance music producer, Avicii, left his fans devastated, as he was just 28. Avicii, whose real name was Tim Bergling, found dead on Friday in Muscat, Oman when went on a family holiday.
His death was confirmed by a spokesperson, Diana Baron, but no official cause for his death is revealed yet. Ms.Baron said,” He was found dead in Muscat, Oman this Friday afternoon local time, April 20th. The family is devastated and we ask everyone to please respect their privacy in this difficult time. No further statements will be given.”
Tim Bergling, known by his stage name Avicii, was born on 8 September, 1989 in Stockholm, Sweden to Klas Bergling and actress Anki Liden. As his name was already taken on Myspace, he chooses the name Avicii which means “the lowest level of Buddhist hell”.
He has three siblings David Bergling, Anton Kornberg and Linda Sterner. He was a famous Swedish musician, DJ, remixer and record producer. He started his career in music in 2017 when he signed on with the Deficits Plays label.
Later on, in 2011 his breakthrough single “Levels” received a huge appraisal and his debut album True(2013) also received positive reviews from the music critics. He got his name in the top ten in more than fifteen countries and also topped in Swedish, Danish, Australian and US dance charts. His single “Wake me up” along with “You make me”, “ Hey Brother”, “Addicted to you” and “ Collide” rose from his career to new heights.
He as ranked no. 6 on the top 100 DJs list in 2011 by the DJ magazine and in 2012 he WS ranked no. 3. He was also nominated for a Grammy for Best Dance Recording with “Levels” at the 2013 Grammy Awards.
In 2016, he announced his official retirement from touring as he was suffering from severe health problems including acute pancreatitis due to drinking. In 2014, he was forced to have an emergency appendectomy and have his gallbladder removed.
“I’m still traumatized. But I’m sure I will again”, he said.
“ I’ve started being able to listen to music again, getting a little bit of that joy back”, he added.
He later announced his return to the music and released his new self-titled EP in 2017, which was nominated for a Billboard Music award for top ten electronic album just a few days before he passed away.

He was known as the best and one of the most successful DJs in the Electronic Music Industry and he will remain in our hearts for like forever.
